After two successful years she was promoted to Editorial Director and launched two spin-off hair titles: Braids & Beauty and Black Hair Digest. Revered for her beauty and entertainment expertise, in 1996 Cole was hired by Fairchild Publications to launch Creative Designer, a celebrity-based multicultural beauty trade magazine. CD was a sister publication of Salon News, and a co-venture with Sally Beauty Supply.
